Anthony Deane of Maplestead:  BLAZON: Sable a fesse ermine between three chaplets argent.  CREST: A bear's head couped argent muzzled or.

          Daynes of Devon:  Sable, three danish axes argent.    

 

          John and Walter Deane of Taunton: blazoned; Gules, a lion, couchant, guardant, or on a chief argent, three crescents of the field. CREST: a demi-lionrampant, or  in his  dexter paw a crescent gules. MOTTO: Forti et fideli nihil difficile. 

      

Deane (Deanelands; granted by Dethick, Garter. To this family belongs Dr. Dune, Q.C.). Gu. a lion couchant guard.or, on a chief ar. three crescents of the field. Crest—A demi lion ramp, or, holding betw. his paws a crescent gu.

The coat of of arms for Robert Deynes who married Anne Heigham were: or within two bars gules, within a bordure sable.

 

Deane or Dene, of Newton Petrock, and of Horwood. — The heiresses of Leigh of Ashwater, and of Futts of Horwood, married into this family, of which the Rev. John Dene of Horwood, is now the representative. The Deanes appear to have settled at Newton Petrock, in the sixteenth century.Arms: — Arg., a lion rampant, Purpure. Crest:  A lion's head erased, Argent.
