7th GENERATION GEORGE WASHINGTON DAINES  Born on June 18, 1842. Married Mary Jane Roselle.  Served in 63rd OVI promoted to principle musician.  He later moved to  Bloomingdale, Van Buren Township, Michigan, and was a Circuit preacher. The article is from the Kalamazoo Gazette dated  August 17, 1915. The portrait below the article is the exact same image as the photo in the article. The article was given to me by my father, Travilla George Daines, who also preserved George's fife.  We seek his circuit diary, and his civil war diary, known last to have existed as late as 1960.

IF  ANYONE SHOULD HAVE A PICTURE OF GEORGE W. DAINES IN SERVICE, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT.  A LINK TO OHIO CIVIL WAR MUSICIANS FOLLOWS- CHECK IT OUT: MUSICIANS OF THE 43RD OVI : http://www.ohiocivilwar.com/music.html
