This site is the compilation of information obtained through personal knowledge, factual documentation, family oral tradition, and through painstaking genealogical and historical research done with the aide of many cousins, to whom I am deeply indebted and grateful. While I believe the following information to be true, others may differ in their opinions. I welcome those opinions and comments. Your hosts for this site are Tim and Astra, the 10th generation of descendants from Abraham Daynes through his son, Ebenezer, and our cousins extend his descendants through 13 generations. Refresh often, as we are always doing updates. Member of the Oakland County Genealogy Society, Michigan and Athens County Genealogy and Historical Society, Ohio.

I do not claim as fact anything other than that which can be substantiated by some fact that I have read in books: on-line or traditional, and have cited. I have heard many possibilities regarding the ancestry of Abraham Daynes, (b.1652), and wish to hear your ideas about who he was and where he came from and what he did in North America. Perhaps together we can solve for his parentage. I am grateful to all the cousins who have contributed to this site without whose permission, I could not link the many branches of our Daynes tree. Amongst the surname spellings I have encountered are: Dane/Daynes/Dains/ Dean/Deans/Deins/ Deane/Daines. I have also researched links to the people the progenitors of these lines married, as my personal theory is that Abraham's mother/ father-in-law is a relative, and that he, like many of his contemporaries, married his cousin, Sarah Peake. I have been unsuccessful so far, and thus report here what I have found in hopes that perhaps you may recognize some of the connections so that I can link Abraham to his parents.
